Andiswa nézte, ahogy a fiúk fociznak. Ő is szeretett volna csatlakozni hozzájuk. Megkérdezte az edzőt, hogy gyakorolhatna-e velük.
Andiswa watched the boys play soccer. She wished that she could join them. She asked the coach if she can practise with them.
Az edző csípőre tett kézzel így szólt: “Ebben az iskolában csak a fiúk focizhatnak!”
The coach put his hands on his hips. “At this school, only boys are allowed to play soccer,” he said.
A fiúk mondták neki, hogy menjen és kézilabdázzon inkább. A kézilabda ugyanis lányoknak való, a futball viszont fiúsport. Andiswa nagyon szomorú volt.
The boys told her to go play netball. They said that netball is for girls and soccer is for boys. Andiswa was upset.
Az iskolában másnap nagy focimeccset rendeztek. Az edző nagyon ideges volt, mert a legjobb játékosa megbetegedett, így nem tudott játszani.
The next day, the school had a big soccer match. The coach was worried because his best player was sick and could not play.
Andiswa odafutott az edzőhöz és könyörgött, hogy játszhasson. Az edző nem tudta, mit tegyen. Végül úgy döntött, hogy Andiswa csatlakozhat a csapatához.
Andiswa ran to the coach and begged him to let her to play. The coach was not sure what to do. Then he decided that Andiswa could join the team.
Nagyon nehéz játék volt. Félidőig senki sem rúgott gólt.
The game was tough. Nobody had scored a goal by half time.
A második félidőben az egyik fiú Andiswának passzolta a labdát. A lány gyorsan a kapu felé vette az irányt. Megrúgta a labdát és gólt lőtt.
During the second half of the match one of the boys passed the ball to Andiswa. She moved very fast towards the goal post. She kicked the ball hard and scored a goal.
A tömeg őrjöngött a boldogságtól. Ettől a naptól kezdve a lányok is focizhattak az iskolában.
The crowd went wild with joy. Since that day, girls were also allowed to play soccer at the school.
