ヤギと犬と牛はとても仲良しです。ある日、みんなでタクシーに乗って旅行に出かけました。
Goat, Dog, and Cow
were great friends. One
day they went on a
journey in a taxi.
旅行が終わり、運転手さんはタクシー代を払うように言いました。牛は自分の分を払いました。
When they reached the
end of their journey, the
driver asked them to
pay their fares. Cow
paid her fare.
犬はピッタリのお金を持っていなかったので、少し多めに払いました。
Dog paid a bit extra,
because he did not
have the correct money.
運転手さんが犬におつりを渡そうとしたとき、ヤギがお金を払わず逃げ出しました。
The driver was about to
give Dog his change
when Goat ran away
without paying
anything.
運転手さんはとても怒って、犬におつりをあげないまま、立ち去ってしまいました。

annoyed. He drove
away without giving
Dog his change.
だから今でも犬は車を見ると走ってそばに行き、中をのぞいておつりが未払いの運転手さんを探します。
That is why, even
today, Dog runs
towards a car to peep
inside and find the
driver who owes him his
change.
ヤギは車の音を聞くと逃げ出します。タクシー代を払わなかったので、捕まってしまうのではないかと心配しているのです。

牛は車が来ても平気です。自分の分のタクシー代ちゃんとを払ったので、のんびりと道路を渡っていきます。
