Nsonga ntamba ya mapoteto.

I peel the potatoes.

Nchibaula kabiki.

I chop a cabbage.

Nsonga makalota.

I grate the carrots.

Ngovwa nkunde.

I wash the beans.

Nchibaula myungu.

I cut the butternut.

Nchibaula bishu bya sipinachi.

I chop the spinach.

Ba maama abo bachibaula kanyenze.

My mom chops the onions.

Kanyenzhe indengela mipolo kufuma mumenso pakwiichibaula.

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
