I peel the potatoes.

Na chibaula ne kabiki

I chop a cabbage.

Na chibaula ne kalota.

I grate the carrots.

Naovwa ne nkunde.

I wash the beans.

Na chibaula ne myungu.

I cut the butternut.

Na chibaula ne bishu.

I chop the spinach.

Ba mama abo bachibaula ne kanyenze..

My mom chops the onions.

Mipolo ilupuka ingembena kuchibaula kanyenze.

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
