I peel the potatoes.

Ma kabeji re.

I chop a cabbage.

Ma karoti fa.

I grate the carrots.

Ma kaiko oji.

I wash the beans.

Ma ulujo oli.

I cut the butternut.

Ma sukuma wiki oli.

I chop the spinach.

Ma andri ni mbasala oli

My mom chops the onions.

Mbasala oliza ni fe ma mindre ni ra ra.

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
