Nafalanga makwili.

I peel the potatoes.

Napumanga kabici.

I chop a cabbage.

Na pumanga ma kaloti.

I grate the carrots.

Natapisanga manawa.

I wash the beans.

Na pumanga mbatanati.

I cut the butternut.

Napumanga sipinaci.

I chop the spinach.

Boma bapumanga nyanyisi.

My mom chops the onions.

Nyanyisi yani lilisanga haipumiwa.

Onions make me cry when they are chopped.
