Tingi ti pe viv ek so granmer.

Tingi lived with his grandmother.


Ansam, zot ti pe gardien bann vas.

He used to look after the cows with her.


Enn zour bann solda finn vini.

One day the soldiers came.


Zot finn pran bann vas-la.

They took the cows away.


Tingi ek so granmer finn sove pou al kasiet.

Tingi and his grandmother ran away and hid.


Zot finn res kasiet dan touf ziska aswar.

They hid in the bush until night.


Apre bann solda-la finn re vini.

Then the soldiers came back.


Alor Tingi so granmer finn kouver limem ek Tingi avek fey.

Grandmother hid Tingi under the leaves.


Enn bann solda-la finn mars lor Tingi, me li pa’nn reazir.

One of the soldiers put his foot right on him, but he kept quiet.


Kan pa ti ena okenn danze, Tingi ek so granmer finn leve.

When it was safe, Tingi and his grandmother came out.


Zot finn retourn kot zot san fer okenn tapaz.

They crept home very quietly.
