Tingib ge ǁîb ǁnaos ǀkha ge ǁan hâ i.

Tingi lived with his grandmother.


ǁÎb ge ǁnaosas ǀkha go âde gere ǃûi.

He used to look after the cows with her.


ǀGuitsē gu ge toroǃkham-aoga ge hā.

One day the soldiers came.


ǁÎgu ge go âde ge ū.

They took the cows away.


Tingib tsî ǁîb ǁnaosa hâra ge lkhoe tsî ge gaugausen.

Tingi and his grandmother ran away and hid.


ǁÎra ge ǃgarob ǃnâ ge sâusen ǃui i nîs kōse.

They hid in the bush until night.


Ogu ge toroǃkham-aoga ge oaǀkhī.

Then the soldiers came back.


ǁNaosas ge Tingiba haiǂnaregu ǃnāga ge sâu.

Grandmother hid Tingi under the leaves.


ǀGui toroǃkham-aob ge ǁîb ǂaisa Tingib ai ge da, xawe ge ǁūse ge ǁgoe.

One of the soldiers put his foot right on him, but he kept quiet.


ǃNorasa i ge, o ra ge Tingib tsî ǁnaosa hâra sâusen ra go hâ i ǃkhaisa xu ge ǂoaxa.

When it was safe, Tingi and his grandmother came out.


ǁÎra ge oms ǁga ge ǀkhuri-oa.

They crept home very quietly.
