Tom carries a tray of ripe bananas.
ټام د کېلو پلورلو لپاره بازار ته ځي.
Tom goes to the market to sell bananas.
خلک په بازار کې میوه اخلي.
People at the market are buying fruit.
مګر هیڅوک د ټام کېلې نه اخلي. هغوی يوازې دا غواړي چې له مېرمنو څخه میوه واخلي.
But no one is buying
Tom’s bananas.
They prefer to buy fruit from women.
زموږ په ټولنه کې یوازې ښځې میوه پلوري او خلک دا پوښتنه کوي، “چې دا څه ډول سړى دی چې ميوه خرڅوي؟”
“In our community, only women sell fruit,” people say. “What kind of a man is this?” people ask.
مګر ټام حوصله نه بایلي. هغه غږ کوي، “زما څخه کېلې واخلئ! زما خوږې او پخې کېلې واخلئ!”
But Tom does not give up.
He calls, “Buy my bananas!
Buy my sweet ripe bananas!”
یوه مېرمنه له ټوکرۍ څخه یوه غنچه کېلې اخلي. هغه کېلو ته په ځیر ګوري.
One woman picks up a bunch of bananas from the tray.
She looks at the bananas carefully.
هغه مېرمنه دا کېلې پېري.
The woman buys the bananas.
ډېر خلک د ټام ټوکرۍ ته راځي. هغوی د ټام کېلې اخلي او خوري یې.
More people come to the stall.
They buy Tom’s bananas and eat them.
ډېر ژر ټوکرۍ خالي کېږي. ټام خپلې ګټل شوې پیسې شمېري.
Soon, the tray is empty.
Tom counts the money he earned.
وروسته ټام صابون، بوره او ډوډۍ اخلي. هغه دا شیان خپلې ټوکرۍ کې اچوي.
Then Tom buys soap, sugar, and bread.
He puts the things in his tray.
ټام ټوکرۍ په خپل سر په منظم ډول ږدي او کور ته ځي.
Tom balances the tray on his head and goes home.
