ክሳብ ዝመስይ ኣብቲ ቈጥቋጥ ተሓቢኦም ወዓሉ።
They hid in the bush until night.
ሽዑ እቶም ወታሃደራት ተመሊሶም መጹ።
Then the soldiers came back.
ንቲንጊ ዓባዩ ብኣቝጽልቲ ሸፊና ሓብኣቶ።
Grandmother hid Tingi under the leaves.
ሓደ ካብቶም ወታሃደራት ብእግሩ ጌሩ ረገጾ፡ ንሱ ግን ጸጥ በለ።
One of the soldiers put his foot right on him, but he kept quiet.
መሬት ደሓነ ሰላም ምስኰነ፡ ቲንጊን ዓባዩን ካብ ዝተሓብእዎ ወጺኦም።
When it was safe, Tingi and his grandmother came out.
ሰላሕ እናበሉ ብህድኣት ናብ ቤቶም ከዱ።
They crept home very quietly.
