Khuhu Na Dongololo Chicken and Millipede

Khuhu na dongolo zwo vha zwi dzikhonani. Fhedzi zwo vha tshi dzula zwi tshi tatisana. Linwe duvha zwa humbula u tamba bola u vhona uri ndi nnyi ano kona u fhira munwe.

Chicken and Millipede were friends. But they were always competing with each other. One day they decided to play football to see who the best player was.


Zwo ya luvhandeni lwa u tamba bola zwa thoma mutambo wazwo. Khuhu yo vha itshi khou tavhanya fhedzi dongololo lo vha li tshi khou tavhanyedzesa. Khuhu yo rahela phanda fhedzi dongololo la rahela phandesa. Khuhu ya thoma u vhilaela i tshi gungula.

They went to the football field and started their game. Chicken was fast, but Millipede was faster. Chicken kicked far, but Millipede kicked further. Chicken started to feel grumpy.


Zwa humbula utatisana nga u kora bola ya khathulo. Lwa u thoma dongololo lo vha li wa u thivhela bola. Khuhu ya kora luthihi. Ha kona u vha tshikhathi tsha khuhu tsha u thivhela bola.

They decided to play a penalty shoot-out. First Millipede was goal keeper. Chicken scored only one goal. Then it was the chicken’s turn to defend the goal.


Dongololo la raha bola la kora. Dongololo la dirivhula bola la kora. Dongololo la I diya nga thoho la kora. Dongololo la kora lutanu.

Millipede kicked the ball and scored. Millipede dribbled the ball and scored. Millipede headed the ball and scored. Millipede scored five goals.


Khuhu yo pfa vhavhesa nga u kundelwa hayo. Dongololo la thoma u sea ngauri khonani yo vha yo kwata.

Chicken was furious that she lost. She was a very bad loser. Millipede started laughing because his friend was making such a fuss.


Khuhu yo vha yo kwatesa lwe ya vula phapha zwihulwanesa ya mila dongololo.

Chicken was so angry that she opened her beak wide and swallowed the millipede.


Hezwi khuhu I tshi khou ya hayani ya tangana na mme a dongololo. Mme a donglolo vha vhudzisa vha ri, “No vhuya na vhona nwananga?” Khuhu a yongo fhindula tshithu. Mme a dongololo vha thoma u vhilaela.

As Chicken was walking home, she met Mother Millipede. Mother Millipede asked, “Have you seen my child?” Chicken didn’t say anything. Mother Millipede was worried.


Zwenezwo mme a dongololo vha pfa kuipfi kutuku. “Kha vha nthuse mmawe!” ha lila liipfi. Mme a dongololo la sedza thungo dzothe la thetshelesa zwavhudi. Liipfi li khou bva nga ngomu ha khuhu.

Then Mother Millipede heard a tiny voice. “Help me mom!” cried the voice. Mother Millipede looked around and listened carefully. The voice came from inside the chicken.


Mme a dongololo vha vhidzelela, “Shumisa maanda a u o khetheaho nwananga!” Dongololo la ita munukho muvhi na u thetshela huvhi. Khuhu ya thoma u lwala.

Mother Millipede shouted, “Use your special power my child!” Millipedes can make a bad smell and a terrible taste. Chicken began to feel ill.


Khuhu ya boda. Nga murahu ya mila ya pfa. Ya dovha ya etsemula ya hotola ya hotola. Dongololo la nengisea!

Chicken burped. Then she swallowed and spat. Then she sneezed and coughed. And coughed. The millipede was disgusting!


Khuhu ya hotola u swika i tshi pfa dongololo le lavha li thumbuni yayo. Mme a dongololo na nwana walo zwa kuunguluwa zwa namela ntha ha muri zwa dzumbama.

Chicken coughed until she coughed out the millipede that was in her stomach. Mother Millipede and her child crawled up a tree to hide.


U bva zwenezwo khuhu na dongololo zwi a vhengana.

From that time, chickens and millipedes were enemies.
