Nzolo ne Millipede bajinga pa bulunda. Pano baikelengatu na kwikimfya. Juba jimo bafukwile kuteya mpila ya kumaulu pakwaba amba bamone wayukisha kuteya mpila.

Chicken and Millipede were friends. But they were always competing with each other. One day they decided to play football to see who the best player was.


Baile ku kibanza kobapamina mpila ne kutendeka kuteya mpila. Nzolo wanyemenenga bukiji pano Millipende wakijilemo kunyema. Nzolo wapanchile mpila kuya kwalepa, pano Millipede wapanchile kuya kwalepesha. Nzolo watendekele ku zhingila.

They went to the football field and started their game. Chicken was fast, but Millipede was faster. Chicken kicked far, but Millipede kicked further. Chicken started to feel grumpy.


Bafukwile kutendeka kupama mapenoti. Pakutendeka, Millipende wanjinga waku kwata mpila mu golo , Nzolo watwezhezhe kamo. Bino Nzolo naye kyafikile kimye kyanji kya kukwata mpila mu golo.

They decided to play a penalty shoot-out. First Millipede was goal keeper. Chicken scored only one goal. Then it was the chicken’s turn to defend the goal.


Millipende wapanchile mpila ne kutwezha. Millipinde wapikile mpila ne kutwezha jikwabo. Millipede watwezhezhe tutanu.

Millipede kicked the ball and scored. Millipede dribbled the ball and scored. Millipede headed the ball and scored. Millipede scored five goals.


Nzolo wazhingijile bingi pakutana amba bamu kimfya. Kyatamine bingi. Millipinde watendekele kuseka mukwabo mambo wazhingijile kutama.

Chicken was furious that she lost. She was a very bad loser. Millipede started laughing because his friend was making such a fuss.


Nzolo wazhingijile kyakuba, washinkwile kanwa kanji ne kumina Millipede.

Chicken was so angry that she opened her beak wide and swallowed the millipede.


Nzolo po abwelelenga ku nzubo, wasambakene bainanji Millipede. Bainanji Millipede baipwizhe, “Wamumonako mwanami?” Nzolo kechi waambile biji byonse ne. Baianji Millipede ba akaminwe.

As Chicken was walking home, she met Mother Millipede. Mother Millipede asked, “Have you seen my child?” Chicken didn’t say anything. Mother Millipede was worried.


Bino bainanji Millipede baunvwine kajiwi kacheche. “Mama, nkwashaiko!” kajiwi kajijile. Bainanji Millipede batajile konse ne kunvwina bulongo. Jiwi jafumujile mukachi ka Nzolo.

Then Mother Millipede heard a tiny voice. “Help me mom!” cried the voice. Mother Millipede looked around and listened carefully. The voice came from inside the chicken.


Bainanji Millipede ba bijikile, “Ingisha ngovu yobe yashinta mwanami!” Millipede walupwile bwema bwatama ne kunvwanyika kwatama. Nzolo watendekele kunvwa kubela.

Mother Millipede shouted, “Use your special power my child!” Millipedes can make a bad smell and a terrible taste. Chicken began to feel ill.


Nzolo watendekele ku byola. Bino wamina kabiji washipa. Bino wachamuna ne ku kopola. Wa kopwele. Millipede watamine.

Chicken burped. Then she swallowed and spat. Then she sneezed and coughed. And coughed. The millipede was disgusting!


Nzolo wa kopwele kyakuba posotu wamukopola Millipede kufuma munda yanji. Millipede ne bainanji Millipede ba kalebe ne kukanjila ku kichi bafyama ne kufyama.

Chicken coughed until she coughed out the millipede that was in her stomach. Mother Millipede and her child crawled up a tree to hide.


Kufuma popo, banzolo ne bena Milliped kebalwanyi.

From that time, chickens and millipedes were enemies.
